SoundTap Streaming Audio Recorder is a program that can help you record the audio played back by your sound card. It generates a WAV or MP3 file with a recording, the sound source being a file saved on your disk, a TV program that you are watching, a radio program that you are listening to on the Web, or just the sound that your microphone catches. If you want, you can mix the sound from another source with that coming from your microphone.
The program´s interface is pretty simple, and so is the whole recording process: you just start the sound that you want to capture, and then press the "Star Recording" button. Before you do that, you can configure where you want the program to save the recording, and in which format. You can also tell the program to ignore silent gaps in the audio input.
The recorded files are managed by a feature called "Find and Play Recordings", which allows you to see a list of recorded files, and even filter them by duration or date.
The trial version of this program adds a voice message to each recorded file, prompting you to purchase the product.
